Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day Festival
Held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo, the festival brings together the country’s 54 ethnic groups, each with its own clothing, music, dance and cuisine. Visitors can experience a colourful “miniature Vietnam”: listen to Then singing, watch Xoe dancing, try traditional costumes, taste regional dishes and discover distinctive rituals. It is both a festive and reflective journey into the diversity of Vietnamese culture.
Tan Vien Son Thanh Festival
The festival honours Saint Tan Vien, the sacred deity of Ba Vi Mountain and one of the Four Immortals in Vietnamese folk belief. In spring, ceremonial palanquin processions, festival drums and incense fill the Son Tay – Ba Vi region. Visitors take part in a sacred tradition while experiencing the culture of Xu Doai, where belief, history and nature come together.
Va Temple Festival
When spring returns to Xu Doai, Va Temple enters festival season. The road through the old ironwood forest comes alive with drums and colourful processions. Visitors come not only to honour Saint Tan, or Son Tinh, but also to immerse themselves in a living cultural space where faith, celebration and the spirit of spring meet.
Dao Tet Nhay Festival
Tet Nhay is one of the most important festivals of the Dao people, held in early spring to honour ancestors and pray for peace and good harvests. Traditional dance rituals unfold for hours amid colourful costumes, drums and gongs, reflecting a life deeply connected to the mountains and forests.
Muong New Year
Muong New Year is celebrated warmly in stilt houses beside glowing hearths, with the sound of gongs carrying through the mountains. Traditional meals, colourful brocade clothing, graceful dances and New Year wishes create a celebration that feels both ancient and welcoming.
Khe Thuong Village Festival
Held in a village setting at the foot of Ba Vi, the Khe Thuong festival combines solemn processions and rituals with folk games and community celebration. It offers visitors a close look at the spiritual life and cultural traditions of Xu Doai that have been preserved across generations.
